1. Nriju afo nwamgwe na eme na nkunye.

4. Ebe onye ara ga aga di otutu, tinyere egwu ndi oga agba n'uzo; ma ndi nke oga agba n'oma ohia.
ENGLISH- A mad person has too many places to attend; including the dances he will indulge at the roads and as well in the market square.
5. Ome enyi, meta onye di mma enyi maka olulu.
ENGLISH- Whosoever that makes friendship should endeavor to engage with a good person for sake of marriage.
6. Ugwo buzuo ochakee.
ENGLISH- When an eagle matures fully, it's colour will glamour.
7. Ngwere na achu nwa ukpana kpacharakwa anya ya maka nwaobu ngwere.
ENGLISH- A lizard that chases after grasshopper should be weary of a hulk.
8. Mmadu agaghi ekworo na obughi dinta na agba anu, were hapu mgbada ka obiri n'azu ulo ya.
ENGLISH- For the simple reason that someone is not a hunter that kills animals is not enough for him to allow an antelope to dwell at the back of his hut.
9. Agwo mmadu huru n'ime nro na abukama eke nwe ohia.
ENGLISH- A snake that someone sees in his dream is often recounted to be a python.

ENGLISH- When kolanut finally arrives at home, it will speak of where it came from.
20. Ndumodu ana enye nwa nwere nne: ka nwa na enweghi nne ji amara ihe.

ENGLISH- When woman wants to make trouble with her mate of the same husband, she will ask her to give her palm oil for her to use to chew palm nuts.

31. Onye kpotara nwanyi n'egwu onwa amaghi na ikpota nwanyi na ara ahu.
ENGLISH- He who got a wife from a moonlight game do not know the difficulty associated with getting a wife.
32. Ihe ana anochitere diochi bu na inu mmanya, anaghi anochitere ya n'ida elu nkwu.
ENGLISH- A palm wine tapper can only be represented when drinking of palm wine, but he cannot be represented when falling from palm tree.

ENGLISH- Eagle do not perch on the sand.

ENGLISH- When shrubs coils all over a mighty tree, it will form a thick forest.
37. Aka ose adighi mma n'anya.
ENGLISH- Hand soiled with pepper is not good for the eye.
38. Oburu na ezeji rutu oru n'oba, ya weputakwanu ohere gatu ikwu nne ya, nihi na oburu na oso chuwa ya, obughi n'oba ya ka oga agbagbu.
ENGLISH- When a famous yam producer does much works in his barn, let him take a break and endeavor to visit the homestead of his mother because when he is pursued, he will not run into his barn for safety.

ENGLISH- Home animal does not have fear over the presence of a dog.

44. Nnekwu nwe ije, umu ya enwere oso.
ENGLISH- Mother hen is customary with walking while its chicken are known with running.
45. Okenye mia onu akwa, umuntakiri ebegbue onwe ha na akwa.
ENGLISH- When an elder opens his mouth as intending to cry, children will burst into an uncontrollable crying.
46. Ifu uzo bu ihuwa uzo ama.

ENGLISH: When a ram exhausts its running ability in its legs, lion will devour it.
