Ancient Customary Laws of Igbo Society

1. To cut or to uproot a planted yam seedling or other crops belonging to another person.
2. Abortion.
3. To poison or drop poison for someone.
4. Human trafficking.
5. To eat human flesh (cannibalism)
6. To intentionally uproot another person's economic tree.
7. To intentionally set fire on another person's farmland.
8. To knowingly set somebody's farm ablaze.
9. To commit suicide (e.g to hang oneself).
10. To have sexual intercourse with an animal.

12. A father to have sexual intercourse with his daughter.
13. Close relations to marry each other.
14. A man to have sexual intercourse with his sister, niece, aunt or cousin.
15. An elderly man to have illicit sexual relationship with a little girl.
16. To drink the last dregs of palm wine in the presence of an elder.
17. Prostitution.
18. To intentionally place harmful object on the way.
19. To encroach into another person's plot of land.
20. To insult or abuse a priest of God.

22. To begin a land dispute case when the planted crops have not yet been harvested.
23. To wilfully break a palm wine tapper's pot.
24. To wilfully slaughter a pregnant domestic animal.
25. To pollute the community's source of water e.g river, stream.
26. To remove cap from the head of a traditional titleholder.
27. To pull a man's organs.
28. To overlook the funeral of the dead family member and do the funeral of a later dead family member.
29. Using a left hand to give or receive something from an elder.
30. To remove or change land boundary.
31. A person to take share before his elder.
32. To do funeral for a person who committed suicide.
33. A woman to climb a palm tree.
34. A child to eat the eyes of domestic animal in the presence of an elder.
35. A child to eat the gizzard or the anus of a fowl when his father is around.
36. A wife to eat gizzard or the anus of a fowl in the presence of her husband.
37. A man to sleep with another man's wife.
38. A man to have sexual affair with his mother in law.
39. To snub one's father or mother.
40. A traditional titleholder to fight.
41. To practice homosexualism.
42. To be jealous of another person's success.
43. To wilfully throw food.
44. To unlawfully break or breach the good agreement  or contract reached with another person.
45. A wife to insult or disrespect her husband.
46. A servant to cheat or steal money from his master.
47. A child to neglect to greet or salute his/her elder when necessary.
48. An elder to love some of his or her children and hate others.
49. To kill a domestic animal by strangling.
50. An elder to lay bad example.
51. To serve or sell bad example.
52. To serve or sell unhygienically prepared food or drinks.
53. To use one's knowledge or wealth to oppress the community.
54. An elder to leave a pregnant goat to deliver while tied to a rope.
55. To oppress and Orphan
56. To oppress a widow
57. A widow to remarry while mourning her dead husband
58. A widow to have carnal knowledge with another man while mourning her dead husband.
59. One to eat animal forbidden in the community.
60. One to farm on a land on the market day that the area is meant to be on holiday.
61. To push an elder to the ground

64. To engage oracle to destroy someone or family.
